The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) Antigua and Barbuda Branch’s “Lend A Hand To Clean The Land” environmental awareness campaign was highlighted last Saturday during the Commonwealth Youth Exchange on Social Action.
The program featured 12 young people from the UK and Malta who are passionate about making a difference in their community. This year the residency, which is focused upon environmental preservation, brought the RCS’s efforts to the fore.
Public Relations Officer for the Halo Foundation, Mr. Cuthbert Forbes Jr., presented to the group on behalf of Her Excellency Lady Williams, President of the Royal Commonwealth Society Antigua and Barbuda branch, via Zoom.
“I had the opportunity to highlight the RCS Antigua and Barbuda‘s activities over the past year “, said Mr Forbes. “RCS has joined forces with Halo Generation Y to execute various clean-up and bin installation initiatives.”
He continued, “The group was urged to assist in environmental preservation and waste management in whatever ways possible . Even the smallest action can result in great positive change “.
The Royal Commonwealth Society is represented in 54 member nations — including Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
