The African Slavery Memorial Society Inc. was founded in 2009  to research, document and preserve the history of our African forebears who were enslaved on these islands between 1653 and 1834.
The ongoingTOSTEM “Emancipation Stories” project serves to establish the African Slavery Museum of Antigua & Barbuda, to preserve and standardize the Antigua Creole language, to help families to connect through the Genealogy and Recording Project and to assist them in the discovery of their ancestral African origins through DNA tests.
An inventory of historical documents, photographs, heritage slave sites, implements, stories and other cultural retentions is in progress for dissemination to Antiguans and Barbudans everywhere as well as to the local and international public
