OUR ORGANIZATION
The Antigua and Barbuda China Friendship Association is a non-profit organization which was formed in Antigua and Barbuda in 2015. The Association is managed by a voluntary board of elected members, and its main objective is “to promote cultural ties and exchanges between the peoples of Antigua and Barbuda and China.” Other major goals include: the undertaking of fundraising activities; the facilitation of educational opportunities; the fostering of relations with counterpart friendship associations; the informing of developments in science and technology; the establishment of links with governments, international agencies, non- governmental organizations, corporations, churches, associations or individuals which may enhance its charitable and non-profit activities; and the encouragement of travel exchanges between the people of the two nations.
OUR COUNTRY
Antigua and Barbuda is an independent, twin-island state located at the heart of the Eastern Caribbean chain. The population is over 90,000 people and the capital city is St. John’s. The combined land mass of Antigua and Barbuda is 170 square miles, and the temperature ranges from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius year round. Annual rainfall averages only 45 inches, which makes the climate one of the sunniest and most pleasant in the sub-region.
With its sprawling white sand beaches and peaceful, pristine environment, it is little wonder that tourism continues to dominate Antigua and Barbuda’s economy, accounting for almost 60% of GDP and approximately 40% of investment. The Government of Antigua and Barbuda is constantly taking steps to improve the visitor experience and has recently opened a state of the arts terminal building at the VC Bird International Airport, with amenities which includes 4 jet bridges, modern security screening/ passenger processing and monitoring equipment, sophisticated baggage sorting and screening system, 46 check-in counters and 15 self-check-in kiosks, mini food court, 2 restaurants and 21 retail stores. The project was facilitated by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.
The country welcomed 900,000 visitors (both air and sea arrivals) in 2016, and has an inventory of approximately 3,000 rooms in the accommodation sector. There is recognition of scope for further hotel plant development, and there are a number of such projects currently stated for commencement. Antigua also offers a Citizenship by Investment program which features clear legal guidelines and uncomplicated processes.
Other sectors which contributes to the state’s GDP are services (over 70%), industries (20%) and agriculture (approximately 3%). The currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar, which is pegged to the US$ at EC$2.7= US$1.
Antigua and Barbuda maintains diplomatic relations with several nations around the world, including the People’s Republic of China. It is a member of many international organizations such as the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Nations, the Organization of American States, the Community of the Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the Caribbean Community (CARRICOM), and the OECS (Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States.)

The Antigua and Barbuda China Friendship Association has as its motto “Bringing Our People Together”.
The vision of our Association is to foster a greater understanding of the two very diverse countries of Antigua and Barbuda and China through the continued exchange of ideas and the increased people-to-people opportunities for educational, cultural, commercial and scientific interaction.

2016年，安提瓜和巴布达接待游客90万人次（乘飞机和轮船抵达），酒店行业拥有约3,000间客房。未来酒店设备领域发展前景广阔，目前有很多此类项目即将启动。
为GDP作贡献的其他行业包括服务业（超过70%）、工业（20%）和农业（约3%）。货币是东加勒比元，对美元汇率为2.7东加勒比元兑1美元。
安提瓜和巴布达与包括中国在内的全球多个国家保持外交关系。安提瓜和巴布达还加入了许多国际组织，例如，联合国、英联邦、美洲国家组织、拉美和加勒比国家共同体、加勒比共同体和东加勒比国家组织。
我们的愿景
安提瓜和巴布达-中国友好协会的口号是“让两国人民走到一起”。我们协会的愿景是，通过持续的意见交流和增加民间在教育、文化、商业和科学领域的互动，来促进安提瓜和巴布达与中国这两个完全不同的国家之间的更深入了解。
