Two weeks ago, I found myself facing death. In fact , one minute more and I would not be here today. This award is therefore very timely, and my recent near-death experience has made me realize even more that what is important is for us to live a life of service.
The Order of St John has been dedicated to helping mankind. We can’t thank you enough for your charitable contribution to global charity.
I was fortunate enough to be involved with the work of the St John Hospice in Antigua, and the St. John Ambulance here in the United Kingdom. I pledge to continue to help as much as I can — as long as there is breath in my body .”
