The Cottage of Hope, a home for abandoned and abused girls in Antigua, was the beneficiary of a refrigerator and two standing fans from Their Excellencies Sir Rodney and Lady Williams and the Halo Foundation. On a recent visit to the facility, the Halo team identified a list of needs and immediately commenced sourcing the required items,
Mrs. Natilie Alexander, Founder of the Cottage of Hope, indicated that when the charity commenced in 2009 there was no expectation that such a significant number of sexual abuse cases would have been encountered. Currently, over 90% of the situations addressed by the Cottage of Hope are those of sexually abused young girls.
The Cottage of Hope is the most recent addition to the list of charities under the patronage of Sir Rodney and Lady Williams. The Atlantic Rowers all-female team for 2018 has identified this cause of their “charity of choice”, and all donations collected in excess of the operating expenses of the rowers will go towards the running costs of Cottage of Hope.
