September 17, 2016:  Generation Y (the Youth arm of The Halo Foundation) recently made a donation of clothing to the Antigua & Barbuda Red Cross Society’s Thrift Shop.

During the brief handover, President of Halo Generation Y, Brent Scotland, commended the Red Cross on the exceptional work being done to assist those in need.  He noted that the Thrift Shop is indeed an economical way for people to source both gently used and new items.  “What is even more impressive” he continued, “is that Red Cross is headed here in Antigua by a young and dynamic team.  It is heartening to see our youth so focused and useful to society, continuously finding innovative ways to offer support ”.

President of the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society, Michael Joseph, thanked Generation Y for its thoughtful donation.  He explained that the new items would be placed for sale in the Red Cross Thrift Shop located within the complex of the Red Cross on Lower Old Parham Road.

Public Relations and Communications Director of Halo Generation Y, C. Marcellus Forbes Jr. said, “This clothing drive is only one of the ways in which we are reaching out to the community.  We are making the difference by being the change. Even now, our group is in the process of holding a raffle over the next few weeks, which will benefit some of the institutions under Halo. We know how important it is to give back”.

The Halo Foundation is an umbrella non-profit organization that seeks to address the needs of 25 charities (including the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross) under the patronage of Their Excellencies Sir Rodney and Lady Williams.
