When the Halo Foundation found out that Eric Charles was in need of a covered outdoor work space and curbside signage, the Charity immediately joined forces with Kennedy’s Hardware, Visual Echo and Signs Plus in order to make this vision become a reality.
Mr. Charles almost single-handedly operates a small decorative concrete business in Cassada Gardens, producing items such as flower pots, paving stones and yard ornaments. He said, “The business came about due to my accident [some years ago], which caused me serious disability, crippling me from the waist down. Being so gravely affected, I had to find something to do in order to maintain my sanity and keep my body fit.  Life is a challenge, but if you have good people around you, a will to live and an understanding of life, you can overcome all obstacles. Opportunities arise when you least expect, and those are the ones that change you”.
