The Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) recently received a donation of furniture and appliances from the Halo Foundation.
Spearheaded by the Directorate of Gender Affairs (DOGA), SARC “is designed to provide a number of services to victims of violence which includes: medical care, counseling, court advocacy, and legal aid among other services”. In addition to the support received from the United Nations Trust Fund and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for the development of the Centre, there is still expressed need for collaboration with the private sector in order to completely furnish and consistently maintain the facility.
